About the Scottish FA Referee Course

Welcome to the Scottish Football Association’s online training platform. The platform provides information and guidance for anyone looking to become a qualified referee in Scotland.

A solid understanding of the Laws of the Game is essential for becoming the best referee you can be. This core qualification course will equip you with that knowledge.

To become fully qualified, you'll need to complete all 5 online modules — including an exam — followed by a 2-hour in-person session with your local referee association. You’ll be able to select your face-to-face session when you start the course.

The course fee covers both the online and face-to-face elements of the qualification.
